Yorktown Surrender
In late 1781, General George Washington set a trap in hopes of capturing Cornwallis in Yorktown. France had sent 5,000 troops to help George Washington and his army. On October 6, 1781, French and American gunners opened fire in Yorktown and captured Cornwallis and his army. Below is a diary entry, and a video on what occurred that day in Yorktown.
